Air Con Re-gas in Buckfast

For an older car on R134a gas, re-gas is from £50 for R134a. For a car with the newer gas, it is from £99 for R1234yf.

R1234yf is typically fitted to cars from around 2017 onward, though you should confirm yours. A label under the bonnet or the handbook will tell you. The gases are not interchangeable.

What are the warning signs of low gas?

Because gas leaks away slowly, you may not spot a problem straight away. Look out for:

How does the leak check help?

Vacuuming the system and checking for leaks shows whether it holds on to gas. Where a system is badly leaking, a re-gas will not last, so the check protects you from paying for gas that escapes.

Running the air con regularly all year helps the system stay in good order.

A little regular use goes a long way: even in winter, switching the air con on for a while keeps it active, and you will notice sooner if something changes.
