What does a failing exhaust sound and feel like?

Why do diesels in Brixham get DPF problems?

Town driving is the classic cause. A diesel particulate filter needs a sustained, fairly brisk run to burn off the soot it collects, and a day of harbour trips and school runs rarely provides that.

When the filter is full the DPF light appears, and some cars then cut power into limp mode. Please do not ignore it. Depending on the vehicle we may be able to clean or regenerate the filter, but a badly blocked one can need more, which is why early attention matters.
